Innovative Development and Sexuality Curriculum
Announcing a New and Innovative Sexuality Education Curriculum Designed to TeachYour Special Needs Students Some of Life’s Most Important Lessons
Ivymount School, a NAPSEC Affiliate Member, is pleased to announce the publication of Life Cycle, How We Grow and Change: A Human Development and Sexuality Education Curriculum. This curriculum was especially designed to meet the needs of teens and adults with developmental or other disabilities that interfere with learning.
Life Cycle has received outstanding reviews by leaders in the field as well as by instructors who have field-tested the curriculum. Life Cycle has been recognized as especially effective because it is activity based and uses a social-emotional context, with an emphasis on self-awareness, self-esteem, and social competency. The lessons are richly illustrated to enhance understanding of the material. The curriculum kit includes a CD, which displays a color version of each illustration designed to capture the students’ attention and stimulate classroom discussion.
Unlike most sexuality education curricula, Life Cycle is comprehensive, with over 100 lessons that address the major aspects of psychosocial and sexual development throughout life. A unique feature of Life Cycle is that the students assemble their own Life Cycle book to take home for use as a reference upon completion of the course.
We invite you to learn more about how Life Cycle can help your teachers provide the highest quality sex education course to your students. It was conceived, developed, and illustrated by Ivymount staff members. For more detailed information (including a complete course description, course outline, sample lesson and lesson plan, as well as testimonials from field testers and professional reviewers), please go to www.lifecycleeducation.com, or follow a link to this curriculum on Ivymount’s Web site www.ivymount.org.
*NAPSEC members are eligible for a 10% discount off the purchase price.
Please contact the publisher at LCEconsultants@verizon.net to take advantage of this special offer. Cost of complete curriculum is $299.95 plus shipping and handling.
